Urban Tree Festival 2022: Top 24 Submissions
In the last 12 months we have all come to appreciate the nature that surrounds where we live. Trees in our parks, streets and front gardens have provided shade, shelter, and a changing view. They have boosted our spirits and willingly offered us something to hug! The Urban Tree festival ran a competition in April 2022 to celebrate these themes, inviting writers to respond to the theme 'Healing Trees'. My story, Each and Every April, was selected as one of the top 24 submissions and published online, but it was also shortlisted as one of the top 12 and so will also appear in print.

World Haiku Series 2019
330 years have passed since Matsuo Bashō「松尾芭蕉, 1644–1694」visited Kisakata「象潟」on the evening of August 1, 1689. If Bashō were here today, the greatest master of haiku would be greatly surprised to find that his is an artform loved all over the world. Akita International Haiku Network started a new project to celebrate this 330th anniversary of Bashō’s visit to Kisakata: World Haiku Series 2019.

Postcard Shorts
Postcard Shorts had several hundred diverse and diverting short stories, for you to read, share and enjoy. The inspiration for this site came from a challenge made by George Hay, a science fiction magazine editor in the 1970s, to Arthur C. Clarke (and others). They published stories that were pithy, poignant, funny, interesting, inspiring or insightful, but always original and of about 250 words or so – as much as could more or less fit on a postcard.

FlashFlood Journal
Every year, National Flash Fiction Day aims to celebrate all that is exciting and bold and, above all, brief in the world of flash fiction. The aim is simple, they want the best flash fictions. The word limit is 500 words, but that's the only rule. Any subject, any genre, any style, any perspective, anything as long as it's flash.
